The Henna Queens Bio

My name is Briana and I was born in Eugene, OR in 1985. I started painting henna when I was 12 years old. My mother Clair encouraged me to start painting with henna. She was the first person to start doing henna at the local Saturday Market back in 1997. I was always so intrigued by her playing with henna. I was always observing from a distance, but didn’t start to experiment with henna until I was old enough to realize how awesome it was. At first I was just drawing very simple designs on myself and my friends. My mother kept encouraging me to pay closer attention to detail and take painting mehndi more seriously. With her words of encouragement by the time I was thirteen I was painting henna at the local Saturday Market by my Mother’s side. We painted henna together for 15 years. That was the best years of my life and wouldn't take it back for anything. Granted I wasn’t charging that much I felt so proud of myself that I was making some of my own income and doing what I love to do. I give thanks to mother and her words of encouragement and helping me find my life's passion. I feel blessed everyday that I have found my purpose on this earth...
